System Information

The system information section displays:

  • Version: Current OpenShrooly firmware version (e.g., v0.9)
  • Voltage: System voltage reading from the power supply

The voltage reading helps monitor power supply health. Normal range is typically 11-13V for a 12V power supply.

Network Information

The network section shows your device’s connectivity status:

  • Mode: WiFi connection mode (usually “Station” when connected to your network)
  • SSID: Name of the WiFi network the device is connected to
  • IP Address: Local IP address assigned to your OpenShrooly device

Use this information to:

  • Verify network connectivity
  • Find your device’s IP address for direct access
  • Troubleshoot connection issues

Firmware Update (OTA)

The OTA (Over-The-Air) update feature allows you to upgrade firmware without a USB cable connection.

How to Update Firmware

  1. Download Firmware:

    • Visit the OpenShrooly releases page
    • Download the ota.bin file for the version you want to install
    • Note: OTA files are smaller than full firmware files
  2. Select File:

    • Click “Upload Firmware (.bin file)” in the settings modal
    • Browse to the downloaded ota.bin file
    • File name and size will be displayed
  3. Upload:

    • Click “Upload Firmware” button
    • Progress bar shows upload status
    • Do not close browser or power off device during upload
  4. Device Restart:

    • Upon successful upload, device will restart automatically
    • Wait 1-2 minutes for device to reboot
    • Reconnect to the device after restart
    • Verify new version number in settings

Security Considerations

Local Network Only: OpenShrooly operates entirely on your local network with no cloud connectivity.

Access Control: Anyone on your local network can access the web interface. Consider:

  • Network isolation if needed
  • Router-level access controls
  • Keeping firmware updated

Firmware Source: Only install official firmware from:

See the Setup Guide for initial WiFi configuration instructions.
